In an air-cooled spot cooler , the air is pulled into the unit and across two sets of coils, first the condenser and then the evaporator. In the condenser, the gas refrigerant, which the compressor has pressurized, is shifted into a warm liquid. Some heat exits via vents in the unit; a vent is commonly established to bring it out via a window, door or ceiling panel. Warm air then gives into the evaporator, which chills the atmosphere and withdraws moisture.
